What I exactly needed
This is what i needed to get the first original creation date before the modified date back to original
Build Finder filenames from the details you choose. Preview every suggestion, apply changes when you are ready, undo any batch, or keep supported analysis on-device with Local AI.
Combine file content, metadata, dates, custom instructions, and reusable blocks into Finder filenames that match the way you work. Zush suggests — you review and decide.
Analyze screenshots, Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, PSD, audio, videos, EPUB and FB2 ebooks, PDFs, HEIC and RAW photos, Office docs, iWork files, and exports without leaving a native macOS workflow. Describe any detail for Zush to extract, then reuse it as a Custom AI Block in any template.
Monitor ~/Downloads, Desktop, or a screenshot folder so selected file types get readable names as they arrive.
Save reusable rename setups for screenshots, expenses, music tracks, client work, legal files, travel bookings, and monitored folders.
Build consistent filenames from 145+ blocks covering dates, file metadata, audio, photos, finance, legal, travel, clients, and AI-detected fields.
Guide names with custom prompts, and create your own naming fields — client, case number, brand — with Custom AI Blocks to reuse in any template.
Generate readable names and metadata so files are easier to find later with Finder and Spotlight.
Every Mac rename is logged, so you can revert files back to their original names if a batch needs another pass.
AI groups files by content and names the folders.
Write a prompt to tell AI how to group your files.
“Group invoices by company and receipts by month.”

Clients is the destination you choose. Acme is the folder Zush suggests from the file. You review every move before applying it.

Awesome App, I had over 127 Reels that needed namimng, it did it flawlessly, so well that I ended up buying the App Permanently :)
Zush is a fast AI file renamer that really works and I can give tons of praise to them for creating this fantastic program. There are lots of things you can with Zush and templates to choose from or create your own templates. You can add all kinds of presets that can add more detail for your renaming but I bought the $10.00 monthly charge but soon will purchase the lifetime plan with this Great program so Thanks for creating this !!
Nothing fancy to say here: I had a bunch of files with generic “Screenshot” names, and Zush renamed them so I could actually search for later. The folder monitoring is pretty neat too - it just watches my screenshots and handles the new ones automatically. That’s exactly what I needed. Thanks for the app!
This app does exactly what I needed it to do.
Zush excels most in the freedom that it provides users with regarding the flexibility behind the renaming process.
Zush is built for Mac users who need an AI file renamer, batch rename tool, and practical file organizer for messy Finder folders — Downloads, screenshots, photos, PDFs, and scans.
Drag files or folders from Finder, generate names from content, review every suggestion, and apply the full batch with undo history.
Monitor ~/Downloads, Desktop, or a screenshots folder so new files get readable names as they arrive — rename in place or enable optional AI folder sorting (beta) to group new files by content.
Zush writes file content into readable filenames and metadata so Finder and Spotlight can surface files without opening each one.
Combine AI titles with dates, clients, and counters from 145+ Naming Blocks, or describe your own field — client, case number, brand — with a Custom AI Block.
Use Zush Cloud, connect Gemini, OpenRouter, OpenAI, or Claude with BYOK, or keep supported analysis on-device with LM Studio or Ollama.

Hazel is a rule engine that watches folders and acts on files by conditions like name, date, or kind. Zush works the other way around: it reads what each file actually contains and suggests a descriptive, searchable name.
Zush adds optional AI folder sorting (beta) and destination folders alongside folder monitoring and rename history. The Windows version supports in-place renaming — see the full Hazel alternative comparison.
These are the everyday Mac workflows people use Zush for. Each one is a watch-folder or drag-and-drop away.

Point Zush at your Screenshots folder. Every new capture gets a descriptive name within seconds — no more scrolling through hundreds of timestamped files.
Watch ~/Downloads. Bank statements, e-receipts, signed contracts, and exports all get readable names as they land — searchable in Spotlight on day one.

Sync photos from iPhone into a Zush-watched iCloud folder. RAW, HEIC, and JPG are analyzed by AI vision and renamed to describe what’s actually in the photo.
Rename Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, and PSD source files by visible flow, screen, component, and project context before handoff.
Set your naming rules, preview every change, and rename Finder files with Zush Cloud, your own AI provider, or Local AI.
